Séance

get flesh, eat flesh –
years later, years ago
we furnished this house with hundreds of fireflies,
we stained our darkest corners
with ember hearts that glow.
Nevermore shall I deplore
the terror,
the mist when we divided afterlife –
it’s proper, darling
to abandon error
as soon as you decide to cease thy strife.
We’re cannibals – they say,
as if it’s horrid.
<<We’re lovers>> – we respond,
as if we care,
but reveries are sound and dreamers lofty
and hearts are on the menu rather rare.
Get flesh, eat flesh
of the departed,
of those who come to life,
of those who grow –
We’re cannibals, I thought
before we started
to dine in our house
where bodies glow.

What makes you tick

The burgeoning ethos of drifting fairies
In limited bodies; a spark that carries
The satisfied ways of disturbing genome –
Are these the things that resemble Home?

Amidst the glorious, chanting stream
In search of anything, my void is supreme,
I’m patching footprints over the wasteland,
The world stops nowhere, just as I planned.

What makes you tick and why is it dazzling?
Why is your heart still ancient and puzzling?
Faith is my opulence and I am squandering,
There’s magic everywhere, but it is tottering.

As I turn my head in every direction,
My peculiar heart utters affection.
We sit together
And we know why we live
All alone.
